If you don't know who he is, let's just say he created these smash-hit game-to-movie failures: House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark, as well as Bloodrayne.
What's such a big deal about him? Well, he's a **** moron to boot, and for a reason.
All of the game-based movies he has made thus far, and to continue onward, have sucked major hairy AIDS infected balls. You may have read the reviews and criticism towards Uwe Boll, and may have came across the petitions that wanted him to stop making movies, as he is noted to have a movie based on Far Cry in the works.

Recently, Boll made a challenge to his critics to "put up or shut up". In June 2006, his production company issued a press release stating that Boll would challenge his five harshest critics each to a 10 round boxing match. Invitations were also open to film directors Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary. To be eligible, the critic must have written two extremely negative reviews of Boll, in print or on the Web, in 2005. Footage from the fights will be included on the DVD of his upcoming film Postal.[15] On June 20, 2006, Rich "Lowtax" Kyanka stated on Something Awful that he has been invited by Boll to be the first contestant. Only after that Kyanka reviewed Alone in the Dark. [16] The online gambling site GoldenPalace.com decided to sponsor this event, dubbing it "Raging Boll". The list of five critics to step into the ring with Boll was drawn up in late August 2006, and featured Kyanka, Rue Morgue magazine writer Chris Alexander, webmaster of Cinecutre Carlos Palencia Jimenez-Arguello, Ain't it Cool News writer Jeff Sneider and Chance Minter, amateur boxer and website critic. |
Uwe Boll even went as far as to have recently thought of making a film on Metal Gear Solid. Though here's the reaction he got directly from Hideo Kojima, the creator of the game series:
| Hideo Kojima to Uwe Boll wrote: | | When rumors appeared that Uwe Boll expressed interest in a Metal Gear Solid movie, and claimed to have been given a script to read, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima responded in his audioblog HIDECHAN, "Absolutely not! I don't know why Uwe Boll is even talking about this kind of thing. We've never talked to him. It's impossible that we'd ever do a movie with him."[7] |

| I watched that crap director fight those critics in boxing matches. Apparently he used to be a semi-pro boxer and he outweighed most of them. Some of the critics didn't take it very seriously, but Uwe Boll was taking it seriously and none put up much of a fight. One of them was a 17 year old kid. He is a better boxer than he is director, but for semi-pro, he was pathetic. He should give up directing and boxing. |

Though he kicked their asses (little or no bruises compared to Tiger Chris, from Toronto), I still despise him as a director. This fight thing was a bit rigged though, he called for a 180 lbs. limit and he outweighed them all, so there was not something fair in it. He liked to taunt too, what a dick. |

| I think he just hand picked the weakest critics he could find. I wish I was an internet movie critic and he challenged me. I would have knocked him unconscious and into a coma, so he could never make any more garbage movies ever again. |

| That's all that he really fought those critics for, to give him a right to make more movies. We need a good fightin' critic! |

Alone in the Dark was a great game! And I rather enjoyed House of the Dead.
Edit:
Oh wait, you should have stated game to movie BEFORE you named those titles. I was like WTF Alone in the Dark was a smash hit. |
