| I get this overpowering urge that something bad is going to happen whenever I start to feel happy or confident. This feeling is always in the back of my mind and eats away at any positive thoughts. The worst part is that I understand that the negative thoughts are completely irrational; I just have trouble making myself truly believe it. I've read the books and I've been to psychologists. I know what I am supposed to tell myself, and I know what I'm supposed to do, however it all justb seems so artificial to me. |

I am the same way. I am forever a pessimist and if things do happen to be going smoothely I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop. M y mom always says to think positive, as does my husband. I always feel that is so pointless because it's never helped either way. Thinking negatively doesn't help either of course, but still. |

| I honestly think that I self-sabotage myself and my eating healthy/working out efforts because I know that when I FINALLY lose all my weigh, I cannot hide behind that anymore as an excuse why I don't feel like going out and being social. |

| No. I'm just afraid of the risk involved to achieve it. True happiness requires work. The work is what scares me. Not that I'm lazy. Well, a little. |

| I totally understand what you are saying. I have always felt there was a black clloud over my head and if I start to feel happy, it is almost like I don't deserve it. |

| Oh, definitely. I get a lot of anxiety if I realize I'm happy, because I logically know that it's going to end (like being on top of a wave). |

i have this situation too, but lately i've been taking abilify, which is meant to help with that 'paranoid' feeling, and i think it does.
also i'm doing a little meditation thing, my own kind of meditation. when i get a happy feelng, just for no special reason, but what i guess we are meant to have as a normal thing, i kind of meditate on the feeling, or like , stay with it, stay in it, bring it back again if it goes. dunno how, but it seems to help. i'm doing it more and more, and avoiding that other 'dread' feeling. |
