Just graduated from uni. I've been employed fulltime for about 2 months (probation ends in one month), and I don't like my job. In one year I plan to leave. The pay is not good, I don't believe what I'm doing is useful, and I don't get along that well with the other people. Most of the time I only talk to 2 people: one is a grad and the other is a cadet. When the group of guys go out on Friday nights (to pub/bars) I always decline, even though I get offered to accompany them. Last week I had a lunch with my work mates and I barely spoke. There was a guy newer than me at the lunch and he seemed to get along with everyone fine.
I think after one year I want to try to become a trader. They make good money and they don't have to face clients or deal with people that much. They just have to be good with maths. |

This is a forum I can relate to right now. I am absolutely fed up with my job which is why I'm quitting in exactly three weeks. I as of yet don't have a back-up job, but I have a very good shot at getting in somewhere because of connections.
As for my dream of getting into journalism... well, it's pretty much crushed as I'm horrible at grammar. (Maybe not horrible, but definitely not top-notch.) I'd really rather write, but I want to write what I want. Not possible when you're working for a newspaper company. Plus my boss had no intent on giving me a leg up anyway. He completely lied to me. Ugh! I wish today was my last day. |
